Finch Family Highlights – 2007Starring:
Whitley Wonder – Age 10 going on 16
Porter Rockwell – Age 8
Preston the Pink Flamingo – Age 6
Mason the Magnificent– Age 3
Baby Tanner – Age 1.356
Sariah – Age 300, I mean 30. (Anyway, she’s old)
Andy – Well aged
We’ve had a wonderful year as a family. There are too many blessings to list, so presented are the highlights:
* This summer we took a driving tour of many church history sites with Andy’s parents and siblings. 4200 miles and two weeks later, we had experienced Mount Rushmore, Nauvoo, Carthage and Liberty Jails, Winter Quarters, Martin’s Cove (where we took a trek). We also went through Lewis and Clark Caverns in Montana on the last day for Preston’s B-Day. Great memories, bugs, campgrounds and time together as a family.
* Porter was baptized and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Both families were here for the event. Homer and Josh (Sariah’s dad and brother) came up early for some great small mouth bass fishing on Priest River. Preston out-fished us all.
* Porter and Preston wrestled for the first time this year. They loved getting medals and having their pictures taken. Fun!
* Sariah achieved the prime of her life (30) and is now falling precipitously down the back side. All that’s left is dying!
* Tanner turned (1) year old. As the baby elect of the family, Tanner enjoys being cute and irresistible. He plays the part well.
* Preston and Mason started school: Kindergarten and preschool, respectively. They are so excited to learn and make new friends.
* Whitley was selected for a traveling marimba group for school. She loves music.
* Andy finished school to the delight and pleasure of the entire family. Being done is highly recommended. The rate of hair loss and graying has slowed somewhat so Andy still appears young enough to date Sariah who was asked to dance by a senior in high school at a church dance we were chaperoning. Sariah says it was dark…Andy says the kid had good taste.
We are all healthy and happy. Life has its challenges, but that adds spice to an otherwise bland existence. We’ve been married 11 years this month. We are both grateful to have each other. It gets better every year. Second to our marriage, our kids are our greatest joy and the source of learning and growth. In spite of our work and effort, none of this is sufficient without the Atonement of Christ. We are grateful for this time of year to reflect on His life and sacrifice. It is wonderful to share the holidays with friends and family.

If you can believe it after seeing all the other blooper pictures we got a picture that turned out...thanks to Katie, she photo shopped Whitley's face on because it wasn't showing before. This was of course the 1st out of the gajillion that I took that day. :)

I think you did great! This one is really good. Some of the others are funny! Angel gown up, foot on baby Jesus' head! What an experience photographing children can be.

Youe guys are great. I love the home made Christmas. I think we did that a few years while we were growing up because we were BROKE. i think my parents did a good job hiding it. Your family is such a good mix of rogers and finches. It's kind of a scary gene pool now. Good luck with that 10 going on 16. I think I've got one, but she's only 6...
