Conner

Conner went through a little phase where if he didn't get his way he would turn the water works on.  It was so cute it was actually funny.
Here he is playing dress up.  He loves to be batman or superman so he can fly around the house.
This is at the hospital getting ready to go in for his annual appointment to check his heart.  He is doing great!  They said it would probably still be another couple of years before he needs to have surgery to replace the valve.  Yay!!  Conner has grown a ton this last year and I was afraid that it would be sooner.  A few months ago he had a bronchoscopy done to see how his airway was doing.  It used to close down 50-60 % but now it only closes 20-30% This was great news!!  We found that it was actually an artery that was making it close every time his heart beat.  Long story short, his previous doctor was very negligent...come to find out he should have had a surgery a year and a half ago to re rout the artery.  As much as I would not have wanted him to have to go through another surgery it would have made life easier for him.  All that said though he is doing great and moving along in that area.  He also had a scope of his GI track done and though he still has reflux it is not bad enough to need surgery so he just takes medication.  His sleep study this last week turned out to be better than before but still not great.  Conner is still having many apnea spells so he will continue to need oxygen while he sleeps.  We are going to try a c-pap which will blow positive pressure into his lungs so that he does not have to work so hard and can keep his CO2 levels down.  We will see how he tolerates it....All and all Conner is doing awesome!  He started an early intervention pre-school when he turned three and loves it!!  We continue to work on the speech and though it will be years before he is fully talking he is great at getting his point across.  His speech therapists  are working on getting him a communication device so that he can tell us all the things that are going on in his cute little head.  I can't wait!
